Water is an essential ingredient for animal and human life, and rain is what supplies most organisms with the life-fueling water. Although rain is naturally acidic (pH=5.6), it is being increasingly acidified through pollution from homes, factories, and cars. The two main chemical components of acid rain are called Sulfur dioxide and Nitrogen oxides. These Chemicals react with the moisture from to air to produces Sulfuric acid and Nitric acid which are strong pollutants in the environment. With acidity of rain seemingly increasing due to natural and man-made sources, poses a threat to not only humans but to animals and the environment as well.
